Blue-throated  Bee-eaters when feeding chicks in dirt-based, cavity nests tend to catch bigger and bigger prey as the chicks mature. This parent must have a monster chick lurking in the nest.

In my view they don't make them much better than this. A great looking bird with great looking and perfectly framed prey. Really like the bird's colors and a very clean background to round it all off. Terrific image.

This is what great avian photography is all about!!
A beautiful subject with fantastic colors, nice lighting with very few shadows, an awesome interesting perch, killer smooth varied background, great details and DOF, and a huge prey item with great colors!! and it's untouched and facing the right way!!! What the #!&!!.
As good as it gets Graeme!!
That belongs on a 36"×24" acrylic face mount in a nice place in your home.
