Natural light

Strong, warmish low light and deep shadows really threw off AWB - NOT my forte.  How does the color look?

Comments and suggestions always welcome.
Good light,
Craig

Can't add much more to what Ron said but I like the shot very much.  Always appreciate good Fall warbler shots since I have so few of my own !!

Craig, The colors look good on my monitor. My technique with a dark background, is that I always use full manual. As you know, that will guarantee the correct exposure on the bird. I would not have known there was a color problem with your processing.

I really should practice with Manual so I feel confident.  I pretty much know what to expect w/ Evaluative, (Canon’s “Matrix”), so that’s my comfort zone; I should practice on common birds while I wait for the “good” ones - but the white balance issue was really bad here.
Good light,
Craig

Craig, My opinion--manual is difficult only because people say it is.  It's just another mode that takes some practice.  There's lots of articles out there and I've found that some are somewhere between lousy and just not correct.  Find a reputable source and I think you will have the manual mode down in less time than you think.  Good luck.
