Tom, an exceptional pose of this male Cardinal. Love the distance of the bird from the perch — it isolates the Cardinal perfectly. In large view, the detail is excellent. Well done!

Awesome pose, perch, and bg. And that eye contact and expression! Personally, I won’t shoot a male Cardinal in harsh light, (although I’ll still try Scarlet Tanagers!). You did a good job of not blowing out the reds.

Tom, A fine image with excellent details. Curious what the perch material is?

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.

Gene...the perch is the weathered remains of a fallen Saguaro cactus.
