Great find, Darrell. Is this a hybrid with orange coloration rather than red? Great setting with the nice perch and background. Beautiful image!

Hmmm- very interesting. From Cornell Lab of Ornithology Macaulay library:
"Plumage color varies with diet. The more carotenoid rich foods they eat, the redder they become. " I've never seen the orange variation, though it appears to be somewhat common. Excellent presentation. Beautiful setting!

It is not uncommon to find House Finches with yellow or orange coloration, but this is the first one I have seen.  It has something to do with their diet.

Thanks, Darrell. I've never seen the orange either.
