Due to the bushfires earlier this year, some of these birds have been showing up way outside their normal range. Three of them right at a local park! Normally these birds are very hard to photograph, but the park had only low trees and so I could position myself well at a tree with exposed branches and a male actually landed right in front of me

It's not often that they show their tail feathers off like that.

I saw a pair just outside of Adelaide but when I hit the emergency brake and turned around, they were gone
