We just realized, based on our own experience and talking to other people, that the male (seen here with a fish) was missing in action since 4th of July. The mother feeds the chicks now that are as big as an adult and they practice flight above the nest.
We still hope that the male is injured only and recovering while the female looks after the three chicks and possibly the male as well. Life is hard especially when anglers don't give a d... about their environment.

Great incoming shot with a meal for the youngsters, Karl. Hope the male makes it — interesting story.
