I have photographed two of the three species of Bee-eaters found in Borneo. Of them, the Red-bearded Bee-eater (Nyctyornis amictus) is less common. They are normally solitary or in pairs.
We were high up in the specially built canopy at the crack of dawn. This individual was perched at eye level and was so relaxed that it allowed us to get a clean shot. You don't get many opportunities like that very often! |
