We only have the black and white magpie over here, but they are such intelligent birds and fascinating to watch. This is a beautifully coloured variety - and a beautiful image, Himadri!

This is really nice. Treepies are quite large birds and I love the way this one is framed against that stalk and flower. Since you mention that critiques are welcome I think the bird is more blue than I remember them being. Maybe a function of the overcast skies? Or maybe there is a different subspecies than the Gray Treepies I have seen in southeast asia.

Thanks Isaac I appreciate your comment. I also photographed this same species in different altitudes and observe some differences in colors.
In this case I photograph above species near about 8000 ft. in Darjeeling Himalaya and the bird was in breeding plumage. Light also defused due to overcast.
