Wow, just a great shot of a bird I'll never be able to get--unless it's dead :-)

Love this dynamic flight shot, Dan. Great wings-down pose. A terrific image!

Thanks, Gene
I use GRP setting on my D500, never change it really as I mostly
are just shooting BIF.
I use the button on my lens that is set to 25pt for perched shot if I take them.
GRP great for flight, really bad for anything else I think.

Dan, Thanks.  That's the mode I also use for BIF.  Not sure what you mean by the 25pt on your lens?  I have the button on the front of the 850 programmed to select single point so I can select the single point option when I want a more precise focus when group mode is selected.  Not sure if the D500 has that option.

Great image. I just wish I could come close to something like this. Excellent.
