I have been using the Nikon Coolpix P1000 since it was released 18 months ago primarily for video. The 24mm-3000mm is amazing for photographing birds from a distance. If I am photographing stock images for publication I use Nikon D500 and Nikon 200mm-500mm. The finch was taken with the P1000 handheld.

I have several reviews on the Nikon P1000 on my blog at

A lovely image, John, and a very nice first post. But it's a bit small as presented. Under our Posting Guidelines, you can make your image 800 pixels on the long side, and as a paid member you can post up 1280 pixels horizontally and 1024 pixels vertically. I would suggest that you resize your image so we all can enjoy it.

It is actually about the same size as the original, which is 350-230 pixels. Try resizing it to 800 x 540 pixels.
