We had quite a lot of fresh snow yesterday morning, and I was surprised to see some of the 18 or so Juncos here having a nice frosty drink. Please click for a sharper view.

What a great winter scene with all of the snow and the puffed up Junco. Perfect timing to catch the Junco with beak open while eating snow. Well done, Cindy!

Nice winter image! Sharp Junco... I think you could lower the exposure a tad
to make the junco pop even more..

Lovely habitat inclusion with this puffed up little bird. The open beak adds a lot of animation to the shot. I see some noise creeping into the shot, not unexpected at this iso - I'm sure a bit more tweaking could mostly remedy that. Mark Smith has a nice little video on his site showing software for noise reduction. I haven't purchased any 3rd party noise or sharpening software personally ( too cheap and lazy!).

Thanks Gary. I have some noiseware apps- should have used them on this!

Poor little thing, all fluffed up against the winter cold. Superb timing to get the open beak and a nice clear view of the tongue!

Oh soooo cute, looks like a little snowball. The snowy backdrop is excellent but cant help shiver for the little one. Agree with timing and beak tongue. Looks like a greeting card image.
