Looking through some older files in hopes of re-editing with the workflow and programs I now employ, I came across this one from a few years ago. This owl arrived mid-December and stayed around until mid-March. Here he's captured on a very cold and sunny morning after unsuccessfully swooping down upon some field grass.

Great capture! Love how the snow is kicked up and the grasses make a great setting. And the claw up too- excellent!!
I remember that owl!! I went there too-only saw it high in some trees for the most part. I think half of New England birders flocked to the site. It seemed completely unperturbed at being a spectacle and creating traffic jams.
