This has been a difficult bird for me. I drove many many miles last year to try and find some. The first few times I saw them, but they didn't cooperate, eventually, I found one that didn't mind my perch!

This has to be one of the coolest perches I ever found, with the pink flowers coming directly off the main branch. All those seed pods are the previous year's flowers.

It is a lovely shot of this endangered bird. The colour of the bill matches the flowers.

Did you know it is illegal to pick the native flora in our forests and parks, you can be fined $10,000. I live in Victoria near Ballarat so I am familiar with the regulations of our forests.

Of course, I know. I only pick perches where it is allowed. Mostly from my friend's big private properties with lots of great plants and birds. This plant, for instance, is native to Western Australia, but the birds like the flowers over here as well.

A stunning image and I like the perch as much as the bird.
