The perch is part of a large tree that was butchered many years ago.

Karl, the highlight of this image is the perfect display of the red belly — the basis for this woodpeckers name. Great job!

What a nice look at this exceptional woodpecker.. Nice that we can see the re belly and nice spotlight effect with the lighting.
