Endemic, often grazing on lawns and open areas with short grass close to rivers and billabongs.

Quite different appearing than the wood duck of North America. Nice soft light and good detail, Zig.

The International name for this species is the Maned Duck although locally in Australia it is generally referred to as a Wood Duck.
