Love the open bill in this one.

One comment on technique that I also noticed on the last one.  With that camera you would get nearly a stop more dynamic range if you shot this at 1/1600s at ISO 320.  On a subject like this, that's a judge difference in black and white detail.

I can only imagine- it is rare to get one of these, especially with bill open. And so hard to get the dark feathers to show. Excellent job! Where was this?

First time ever (at least that's what I heard from photographers), to have come close to the end of the pier. We were very lucky.
