I photographed this Sandhill Crane at Bosque del Apache NWR a few years ago. Although it was early February, the setting sun really brought the background vegetation to life. I cropped the image to the 4X5 format. Please click on the image to view it full size. Thank you for viewing my image.

Nikon DX, Nikon 500mm + 1.7X, f/8 @ 1/1000, ISO 250, Gitzo Tripod, Wimberley Head II.

A stunning image. Beautiful light and great BG, as well as fine colors and detail. One of the best Sandhill images posted here.

Ron, The beauty of the image really shows through when viewed large. Excellent job getting such a large bird completely in focus. Well Done!

the colors are perfect with-in this image and well exposed on the crane as-well, the bg looks as if it's on a canvas backdrop, nice work RON.

Amazing shot, Ron! So elegant and so perfectly presented. Doesn't get any better than this...but of course there are also your marvelous artistic renditions in P&DA with equally exciting presentations. ;)
