Pacific Black Duck - Tasmania
The beautiful and elegant Pacific Black Duck. When I visited New Zealand several years ago it was virtually impossible to find this species without signs of hybridization with the Common Mallard. This was not the case in Tasmania where obviously pure Pacific Black Ducks were abundant. This one was photographed along the banks of the Mersey River in northern Tasmania.a7R4, 100-400mm @ 380mm, ISO 500, f/6.3, 1/640s E.J. Peiker http://www.EJPhoto.com
