400mm ƒ/8 1/500 sec ISO 400
The white-faced heron is New Zealand's most common heron, despite being a relatively new arrival to this country. Native and not threatned.
Wasted a lot of time trying to get closer for the classic shot at the water's edge. Then it took off and landed on a nearby tree. A couple of shots is all I needed. Lucky me as it did not move at all Cloud-Hidden, Whereabouts Unknown
