Gooselike they form long-term pair bonds, often lasting for life, and defend territories. Parents will perform a broken-wing display to distract mammalian predators and sometimes people. I have seen this in action on the dairy farm next door and it's on my hit list before the chicks fly off.

A handsome portrait with attractive lighting, Zig. Good color and detail. A little more room in the frame for the duck would make this fine image even better. Looking forward to seeing the broken-wing display, if possible. :)
