Taken in Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula.  This species usually visits northern Michigan after fall color is down, but this very cooperative individual arrived a little early.

You couldn’t have asked for a better BG. The perch with lichens is nice too. Detail and eye are great.

This is a good-looking hawk, Paul. I like the eye contact and feather detail. Very nice.

The BG is awesome and the hawk looks great too. Lichens sure helped out that perch :) Maybe lift the exposure a tiny bit? Well done
