Shot 2 days ago. I was testing my new (used) Nikon AF 300mm f/2.8..(older screw drive AF). Amazing optics and AF is not too bad considering old AF design. I pre-focus a lot and that helps. Paired with D2Hs (1.5X crop body) it is a nice combo.
In this shot I was waiting for this heron to take off. It was hiding behind Cattails. Sun was getting really low and the orange glow was awesome. I gave up and soon as I started to walk heron took off and in a split second I got some nice shots. No crop here, this is full shot. I can't wait to use this combo for Short-eared Owls....they should be arriving anytime now soon (let's hope) D2Hs, 300mm f/2.8 1/3200, ISO-800, f/2.8, handheld. Please click on the image for uncompressed view, thank you. |
