One of the most beautiful birds I have photographed so far. This was shot under precarious light situations at an altitude close to 12,000 feet on the lap of the mighty Himalayas.

Biru, Beautiful bird. Wow--12,000 feet and you're carrying equipment. At that altitude have to wonder if the bird singing or gasping for air?

Sandakphu is the highest point of the state of West Bengal from where this bird has been shot. The air is thin there and carrying heavy equipment there is a real challenge as one tends to get fatigue very quickly due to the thin air. But the vareity of birds there is really amazing.

Intense colors and nice calling pose..
Colors look a bit hot on the bird and top of the perch.
Perch is very nice.
