Taken this morning in Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula.

Northern white cedars go through a process of sloughing off leaves in the late summer/fall.  Some leaves turn orange now and eventually turn brown and fall off. Stressed trees lose more leaves than healthy trees.  This one was stressed by a very high water level in Lake Huron drowning the roots because it is close to the shoreline.  The orange doesn't bother migrant warblers.

The orange cedar leaves remind me of an autumn background. And this is a lovely warbler, Paul.
