It is difficult to shoot into a mix of shadows and highlights, but you did pretty well here, Mike. The detail looks good as does the color on the bird.

Hi Mike- glad to see another Evening Grosbeak they are becoming rare. Bit tough with the deep shadows, but the head shows nicely.

You don't make things easy for yourself, do you, Mike! Shooting up into the tree with all the shadows and bright light, but you got some nice detail and colour - and eye contact.
