These are birds of mid altitudes of the Himalayas. During the summer and the monsoons they tend to ascend to higher altitudes. I found this one last May at Sandakphu, the highest point of the state of West Bengal, India. This shot has been taken under precarious lighting situations as is evident from the EXIF data provided below.
