One of the first images of Great-horned Owls this season. Shot in middle of the June.
I bought old Nikon D1h (2.7MB) classic just for fun, more like collecting value.
I was really curious what kind of images I can get out of it. I was amazed how clean and rich in colors this old 2.7 MB CCD sensor produce images. You can't crop much at all with only with 2.7 MB, but if you can fill the frame camera is still very capable..I think.

D1h, Nikon 500mm f/4 P ED IF
1/40, ISO-800, f/5.6, handheld.

Please click on the image for uncompressed view, thank you.

Ludo, you can make the D1h sing, and this image is a perfect example. The color and detail are excellent, and you did it handheld. Love the eyes!

Very interesting experiment with the old camera! That too just 2.7MB!
The image looks good with excellent details & colors. Looks
sharp even at that low shutter speed

Excellent quality image, Ludo. Still a good camera by the looks of it.

Cameras help, Ludo, but this is a good example that it's the photographer that inputs the magic
