Taken in Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula. This bird was feeding young. It searched the spruce tree in the background and found the Spruce budworm which is deeper in its bill, then went to a tag alder right next to the spruce and found a typical large green caterpillar of its breeding habitat, then returned to search for more budworms. Its nesting habitat (dominated by tag alder and willows) was right next to budworm infested spruces so it took advantage of the bounty.
