A less conventional pose that takes advantage of the perch and its shape.

Iso-400, 500 mm, F6 .3, 1600th, D 500, no flash, handheld, 75% full frame

I like the soft light, pose and detail in this capture. The compositions seems awkward. Consider moving the subject to the left in the frame?

The arching perch and placement of the bird are very good compositionally. The fact the bird has relatively less space to look through is less conventional, but not a game changer in my view.
