First time for me in this past trip to British Columbia. The light was 

harsh and the bird was not very cooperative. 

Camera   Canon  5 D Mark IV

F-stop   f/9

Speed   1/250 sec

ISO-speed    ISO-640

Focal   600 mm

Manual exposure

Love the colorful bird contrasted with the deep greens. A very pleasing capture.

Excellent color in detail. I've only seen one of these and I'm not that far south of British Columbia. They are quite skittish.

Nice calling pose. Exposure looks good and the conifers provide a green background that compliments the tanager well.
