These birds might be pretty common in some countries of Europe, but in these parts of the world, they are not. Over the last five-six winters I have been seeing only a single female migrating in this wetland from where it has been shot. Often I wonder whether it is the same bird or not. One of my biggest dream is to photograph the male which is just an outstanding beauty. This bird is particularly extremely shy and tends to dive under the water of fly away from quite a distance. 

Shot with Nikon D500 + Nikon 300 mm f/2.8 ( VR-I ) + 1.4X TC
