These are lovely looking drakes. But in these parts they appear to be extremely shy and tend to fly away from quite a distance. The lovely colours of the head and the bright cyan in the upper wings makes them easy to identify from quite a distance. The peculiar background is due to the water hyacinth and some dead mangroves.

Shot with Nikon D500 + Nikon 300 mm f/2.8 ( VR-I ) Lens + 1.4X TC

1 / 3200s

f / 4

ISO 250

At Focal Length 420 mm.

A beautiful takeoff shot. Love the trailing water droplets and the nice background. I would love to see this duck a little larger in the frame. Perhaps a crop would do it. Great image.

Lovely shot with subdued background colors compared to the subject - really brings the viewers eye where it belongs.

Thanks. That is the reason why I posted this. The ambience of the image over all has been given priority rather than only the drake.  Thanks again for your words of encouragement.
Regards.
Biru.
