Bonaparte's gulls are the only North American gulls that nest in trees. Once fledged, chicks get to the water and take shelter on the rocky beaches. As they get little older, they get in the water and start exploring the surroundings. Of course, the parents are always around to protect them. I got lucky to find this one stretching it's tiny wings. Thanks to Connor and Jess for their help in finding this nesting colony.
