Photographed shortly after sunrise, the Oystercatcher had just caught some food for its chick. Photographed at Nickerson Beach on Long Island.

Excellent behaviour capture, Axel! Lovely feeling of movement with the raised foot and wings, and the rolling sea foam along the shore. The prey in the beak and the gorgeous early light complete this wonderful scene. Superb!
