Finally back to NS. Sorry folks for not posting or responding for a while. So busy with family stuff and chasing Great Grey Owls on weekends for last 5 weeks. Just got back home yesterday.
This bird was on my wish list for a long time. I walked miles and miles in remote woods with no luck for many days and finally I found a nest with Great Grey Owls and it was not empty. I have never seen GGO before, so when I first saw it I was so happy.
In this shot mommy (assuming) flew out of nest and landed on nearby tree. It was so tame and relaxed.
I can't wait for winter trips to see if I can find them again.

Great pic Ludo! Glad your efforts were rewarded. Must have been an incredible feeling. Hoping to see one myself someday.
I really like the palette of colors here!

Nice shot...though seemingly not bothered by people, it is important to note that they don't like having the nest disturbed by people (or any predator). I saw one roll a coyote into the river. Often the chicks get too big and must be raised on the ground. If they do attack, defending the nest, they will go for your eyes. Unlike Great Horned Owls which come silently from the rear (personal experience). There is an estimated 1,000 pairs in Oregon.

With your love of owls, it is only fitting you found the Great Gray. Very nicely done, Ludo.

Well done for getting your rewards Ludo. Good work... Whilst sometimes frustrating seeking a target image, there are many fringe benefits such as being out there.

As ever, a joy to see. Congratulations
Make your life spectacular!
