Here at home in northeastern NY State, migrating Tennessee Warblers are present in incredible mega-abundance wherever there are blossoming apple trees. This is a first for me. I can find one or more birds in virtually every other blossoming apple tree. I have found 25 in a two hour morning. This combined with high numbers of bay-breasted and Cape May indicates to me an outbreak in Canada forests of the spruce budworm. Yet I can't find any news confirming that. Anyone have insight?
I took this at eye level in a small apple tree near home. Jeff Nadler
