Photographed at the Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas April 22, 2019.

1/800 sec, f/5.6, ISO 640.

This is the first time that I've seen a Golden-winged Warbler.  They apparently are mostly in the Northeast and prefer higher elevations.  My book said that the Golden-winged Warbler is, "Uncommon to rare and declining."  I hope they can make a strong comeback.

A great find and capture, Gene. A beautiful warbler — love the yellow crown.

Amazing shot, Gene. Here in Michigan, I’m in their breeding range and am lucky to see 1 or 2 in a given year, and have certainly never got a shot approaching yours!

Gorgeous shot Gene- glad to see this bird in your territory. They do breed here in the East, but often we see hybrids-generally with Blue-winged Warblers. Nice to see a "pure" one.
