And, the owl said to me "I have just placed a curse on all photographers".

The owl has such a sinister look, Jake. And as you note, it clearly appears it could have very well “placed a curse on all photographers.” :)

You are the only one who caught it David - hunched down on the left side.  I tried to wait him out to no avail.
