Shot yesterday. These Cinnamon Teals are hard to get here so  I take the pictures of them any chance I have,
Dark overcast light.
D2Hs, 500mm f/4 ED IF + TC-16A
1/320, ISO-400, f9 on tripod.

Excellent point of view, detail, color.  Looks like you had overcast conditions and the light exhibits those characteristics.

I can never get close to these in my area as well. I would be a very happy with this..
