Taken in Churchill Manitoba during our June trip with Greg, Heather, and company.
Image
Canon 1D 500 mm hand held using a tree as support.

The Ptarmigan were allot of fun as they would run across the tundra between the small willows and spruce.

Thanks for looking comments and suggestions always welcome

Beautiful shot, Doug. Sharp as a tack with nice eye contact and an ideal BG.

I like the detail of the camoflauge, bet they were hard to spot. You have a nice website.

I've never seen one of these guys. Love the color & texture, not to mention the composition. Would be tempted to push the USM just a bit more.

The detail and pattern in the feathers is amazing. This viewpoint shows it off very nicely. I like your choice of crop, very pleasing to my eye.

I was pretty happy with what I got of the female Willow Ptarmigan but this just blows anything I have away! Really sweet, close in shot.
