I'm amazed at the lack of comments on this one, as it's really a quite different photo of this bird than normal. Nice comp and perch, but it's the lighting that's especially good. The bird's pupils are still dilated for night vision, so I'm assuming you didn't have any torch shining on it. Some specs regarding flash or lack thereof would be good.
