Photo of a Male Golden-fronted Woodpecker photographed at Laguna Seca Ranch in deep South Texas February 20, 2019.

Nikon D7500, Nikon 300mm f/2.8, Nikon 1.4 TC, 1/1250 sec at f/5.6, ISO 900.

Re-cropped the image as suggested and I think it is better.  Would have added this image to the comments section and left the original as a comparison, but I wasn't sure how to do that.....

My favourite pose for a Golden-fronted, love the over the shoulder look, well done Gene.

One of the nicest images you have posted of many great images! The details and BG are great. The only thing I would want is a bit more room on the left of the tuna(fruit).

Joe, Not very many people know that the name of the fruit is tuna.  Thanks for the suggestion.  It was pretty much full-frame, but I might be able to crop it a little different.

About a perfect pose and head angle...nice details and a neat perch.
Perhaps an alternate crop with some off the bottom to really highlight the Woodpecker.

This shot really shows off the bird's patterned back, while not losing the beauty of his gorgeous head markings. Tuna fruit! What a strange name! Never heard of it, but then I don't live around cacti. ;)

Very nice repost. Not as crowded on left.

Great look-back pose, setting and a beautiful woodpecker.
