Very cold and windy with (yet) more snow here. The Redpolls were contemplating a trip to the feeder- you can see a female behind this male. I know it's complex, but I like the stormy effect.

A wonderful wintry scene, Cindy. Love the streaked snow flakes in the air and the snow on the Redpoll’s crown. The female in the background adds interest to the image. A beautiful winter photograph.

Looks cold.. Redpoll very attractive in the snow.
I ma on the fence about the OOF background bird only because I
think it would look cleaner without it.

Cynthia, What is most impressive is that the snow is going sideways. Excellent photo.

I like the shot very much of the redpoll but enough with the snow already, superbly done CYNTHIA.

Love the wintry scene and mood it creates Cindy. That looks mighty cold with the almost horizontal snow.

This really shows off the harsh winter conditions these little birds have to endure, Cindy. I love the gentle splashes of colour on the plumage surrounded by the flying snowflakes and the cold, bare branches. This tells the story beautifully.

I love this. How great it must be to shoot in the blowing snow. The patches of red, especially on the head really make this pop.You can see the snow blowing so you get a feel for the conditions. Great job.

Thanks, all, for your comments. These little birds are a hardy bunch! They are still around but I expect they will go North sometime very soon.
