This handsome adult peregrine had just captured a shorebird (dunlin?) and had begun eating it when it suddenly assumed this mantling pose. Within seconds a juvenile peregrine streaked in to try steeling the prey and the chase was on. They circled and dived for several minutes getting farther and farther away until they were out of sight. I wish I could have gotten closer for this and many other images but was still pleased with the results. Overcast day.

Bob, a great backside view with a nice head turn to show the eye. Impressive feather detail. I very much enjoyed your narrative about the chase – it must have been a thrill to watch.

Excellent behavior capture in what looks like tough light. Good narrative regarding what transpired. Always a thrill to see these guys in action.

Very nice mantling pose Bob! Looks pretty good for long distance shot.

Nice stretched wing pose and the prey is shown. It would have been a killer shot (no pun intended) from the front, bot still excellent, Bob.
