Taken in Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula.  This species has become very common here the last decade.

This individual found a location where he is finding wood boring larva.

I quest this is his nesting whole for the spring time, good job on getting the back side and with his head turned slightly, excellent PAUL.

Perfect spot for him, excavating, with a nice head turn. Usually all I see are the excavations! Beautiful shot.
