Would have been nice to get a little closer,but the Egret wasn't obliging. Taken at Mere Sands Nature Reserve.

F7@600mm 1/8000 secs ISO 1250

Very nice pose, exposure, and partial reflection, Peter. This is nice and is, but since you expressed the desire to be a "little closer," an alternative would be to crop the image an inch or so below the perch and about an inch off the top. Granted the partial reflection would be removed, but it is quite a distance from the bird as is. Just a thought.  :D

I rather like tis "as is"- interesting perch and remote reflection. I can see ron's points too. Either way works well for me.

Thanks for your suggestion, Ron. With this being heavily cropped already, I thought if I went in any further it would affect the quality of the image even more. Sorry,I should have mentioned this.
