Just happened upon this female feeding along the road near a cemetery-very intent on her feast. I had a hard time getting far enough away to get this whole large bird. She was undisturbed by my proximity, but I had to get out of the road! I wish I'd cranked up the ISO a bit, but it was pretty dark. Not happy with the noise I get from the d500 in poor light.
Hand Held.

Great find, Cindy. Love the pose and wind blown breast feathers, and the setting in the berries for this species is really special. Nice eye contact too.

Excellent shot of this gorgeous bird. Beautiful setting, as well.

Love the color palette here, as well as the soft light - it really works w/ a B&W bird and the red berries.

Very beautiful this portrait and also very well composed.
I really like the winter atmosphere.
I really like the red of the bird's head which goes well with the red of the berries.
