Ludo, very nice close-in portrait of this sleeping owl. Great color and detail. I have a question. How were you able to hand hold that rig at 1/250? Amazing.

Ron, thank you for the kind words. Far as holding 500mm f/4 P ED IF. It is not an easy since the lens is MF and no image stabilization.
I have shot for many years long lenses MF handholding. It is all about to stay relaxed. It also help that I was sharpshooter in Czechoslovakia military and I paddled Olympic Sprint kayaks for 40 years and I have strong  upper body.
But key is to stay very relaxed and it is all in the hips that stabilize the image.

Nicely done Ludo. I always thought that I was pretty good at hand holding big lenses but you would put me to shame.
