It is not only hard to get this majestic raptor out in the open, it is equally hard to shoot this bird owing to its tendency of living amidst the wetland bushes. Despite I couldn't frame the lower portion of the tail due to the proximity as well as the fact it didn't give much a chance, I could hardly resist posting this image.

Shot with Nikon D500 + Nikkon 300 mm f/2.8 Lens + 1.4X TC

1 / 1000s

f / 6.3

ISO 320

Thanks for the stop and your valuable comments which help me to learn more. :-)

Biru, a striking look back pose of this stately Harrier. The detail and background are excellent. I think we all have a few images with a wing or tail clipped we want to show, and I'm glad you chose this one. A handsome image, indeed.

the details are superbly perfect and that bg is a WOW factor, birds or raptors most of the time look better in a vertical capture, something to consider for next-time your in the field.

Beautiful image of this handsome species, Biru. The pose and detail are so wonderful, we can almost forget the clipped tail.

All have been said here,+ you can crop the bird to show a close up portrait with enough pixels and I think this will work as it is a full frame image.
