Shot yesterday morning. It was raining hard and I loved it. Dark overcast with the rain creates very soft light and nice mood. Also when raining hard = less people :-).
I lowered  shutter speed low to push ISO down to have clean image with both dark body of the eagle and also bright white head.
This is pretty much raw image with a very little adjusting other than crop.
Nikon D4 has an amazing Dynamic Range.
D4,200-500mm f/5.6
1/160, ISO-560, f/5.6, handheld, VR-ON, DX mode (1.5X crop) @500mm.

Please click on the image for uncompressed view, thank you.

Great pose and eye contact, Ludo. You are a real trooper shooting in the rain. Terrific bald eagle image.

Aaah- that "look" again! A fine image, especially given the conditions.
